Publication Ethics

All research articles published by Open Medical Publishing are subject to rigorous ethical standards. Open Medical Publishing meets and upholds ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process.

Author Responsibilities

  • Authors should ensure that submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere
  • Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently
  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the research
  • All authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflict of interest
  • Authors should ensure proper acknowledgement of others' work

Editor Responsibilities

  • Editors should evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors
  • Editors should not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors without the express written consent of the author

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Reviews should be conducted objectively with no personal criticism of the author
  • Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors
  • Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research should notify the editor and excuse themselves
